The 14th annual Redbull Rampage is an epic freeride mountain bike event unlike any other out there. Virgin, Utah was the home to 21 riders and their dig crews for eight days to custom build their own downhill lines. The Canadians showed up to the party taking all three podium spots. Brandon Semenuk joins Kurt Sorge as the only three-time winner of this epic event.
“WE HAD A GOOD LINE, I DIDN’T RUSH AND I GOT SOMETHING GOOD DOWN ”
On his redemption run after last year’s spill, Brandon Semenuk came out of the gates strong in 2019. An Opposite 360, Suicide No-Hander, manual flair on a step-up traverse, top-side Nac Nac, Front Flip on a double drop, Backflip One-Footed Can Can, and ending with a 360. An unbelievable run that get us pumped just writing about it! Judges gave him a 92.33 that would stand as the number one spot till the end.
Brett Rheeder was returning to Rampage this year to try and be the first back-to-back winner in history. After he cased a few landings for his biggest tricks on the first run, he was down to eighth place. Pressure on! For his second run, Rheeder came back with a Front Flip out of the gate, Backflip One-Footed Can Can, and a couple clean 360s which left him just 1.33 point shy of first place this year.
