The Muskoka River X Classic is a legendary single day paddling race that takes participants on an unforgettable 133km journey. This race is not for the faint-hearted as it involves paddling through two river systems, four lakes and navigating 20 portages in less than 24 hours. The challenge begins before sunrise on the shore of Peninsula Lake, where participants embark on a southward journey down the North Muskoka River, passing through the towns of Huntsville and Port Sydney before reaching Bracebridge. The upstream journey on the South Muskoka River takes participants under the setting sun before reaching Baysville. The final section of the race requires participants to navigate through the mighty Lake of Bays in complete darkness before finally reaching the finish line on Peninsula Lake.
