Get ready for an extreme adventure at the Cheaha Extreme Triathlon, taking place in the heart of Alabama's tallest peaks and the Appalachian Mountains. Unlike other long distance triathlons in North America, this event takes place in a remote area with minimal pavement and an impressive 15,000 feet of elevation gain over the 135 mile course. Modeled after popular European extreme triathlons, athletes will face challenging terrain and mixed surfaces on both the bike and run segments. To ensure safety and support, all participants are required to have at least one support crew member with a vehicle. As you make your way through the course, prepare to be blown away by breathtaking mountain views, steep climbs, thrilling descents, cascading waterfalls, and other natural wonders.
