The Cape to Cape Paddle Event is a 16-mile race that takes place between New Jersey and Delaware, crossing shipping lanes for cargo, commercial fishing, and recreational boating areas. The event is designed to benefit the DESATNICK Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports those living with Spinal Cord Injury in Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, and Ocean Counties, New Jersey. Participants will load their boards in bags and travel on the Cape May/Lewes Ferry from New Jersey to Delaware, where they will then be shuttled to the Georgia Avenue entrance in Lewes Beach. The race will begin after a warm-up period, and racers will be required to stay in the diamond shape vessel/support boat flotilla for safety reasons. All paddlers must complete the race within a strictly enforced 4.5-hour time limit.
